UFCW Local 1518 has reported that Overwaitea Food Group's unionized workers reached a tentative settlement for a new contract with their employer late Wednesday. Details about the tentative agreement are now being prepared to be sent out to union members.

Negotiations between United Food and Commercial Workers' Union Local 1518 and Overwaitea Food Group and Safeway affected thousands of workers at 82 stores from Squamish to Chilliwack. The contract expired on March 29.
